Position: Ministry & Community Coordinator

St. Clement’s is currently seeking a dynamic candidate to serve in the new role of Ministry & Community Coordinator. The Ministry & Community Coordinator will act as the main point of contact between staff and volunteers through regular connection with the congregation and will support deepening relationships among the church community. They will amplify volunteer participation in various ministry and community initiatives and help facilitate event coordination and communication. They will work closely with key lay-leaders, clergy and staff to effectively carry out this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sundays & Services

○ Help to facilitate a friendly connection point for newcomers and those wanting to get involved in parish life

○ Support an ongoing culture of hospitality

  • Volunteer Coordination & Engagement

○ Energize and encourage volunteer participation in the life of the parish

○ Build meaningful connections with and between parishioners in a variety of ways, including participation in Newcomers’ Nights

○ Celebrate parish volunteers through appreciation events

  • Administration & Facilitation

○ Manage administrative tasks for events (e.g. sign ups & registrations, announcements, set-up & roll-out documents)

○ Provide administrative support for Christian Education (e.g. small groups, OMG Tuesdays)

○ Provide administrative support for Pastoral Care (e.g. scheduling meetings, coordinating lay pastoral care training)

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field of study or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated volunteer coordination experience within a faith-based, not-for-profit working environment a major asset.
  • Demonstrated event facilitation experience within a faith-based, not-for-profit working environment a major asset.
  • Proven administrative and organizational skills with experience in Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, database management systems, email and digital marketing software (Constant Contact), and Canva.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and take initiative to move projects forward.
  • Excellent listener and communicator.
  • Ability to engage with a diverse community, across various ages and stages of life.
  • Must be able to work both collaboratively and independently.

Terms:

  • This is a half-time position at 20 hours per week. There will be some flexibility in hours, however the successful candidate must be available to work Sunday and Tuesday mornings.
  • The successful candidate will work primarily on-site at our growing church in midtown Toronto.
  • Compensation package: the expected compensation range for this role is $24,500 to $26,000 annually. Placement within the range will be based on relevant education, demonstrated skills and experience. St. Clement’s offers a robust benefits package, including shared premiums to extended health benefits, matching pension contributions, and three (3) weeks vacation.
  • The Ministry & Community Coordinator reports to the Parish Executive Administrator.
