Job Description: Member Services Director (parental leave contract)
Anticipated Start Date: December 1st, 2025
Reporting to the Executive Director and supporting the Member Services Committee Chair, the CSEP Member Services Director is responsible for:
Membership Leadership:
- Oversee the operation and functioning of membership administration with the goal to create an outstanding membership experience and achieving maximum member retention;
- Support the organizational goal to be a positive and customer centric organization by leading the engagement and follow up with Members of the Society and ensuring all queries by Members are responded to within 24 hours;
- Lead the operation and execution of the annual renewal of the membership of the Society in collaboration with the broader CSEP staff;
- Implementation and oversight of the customer relationship management (CRM) platform in collaboration with the logistics and facilities department;
- Nationwide outreach and association engagement with members and promotion of events in collaboration with the marketing, communications and events department. Lead the engagement with members to identify and highlight the areas of interest and need for professional development topics and themes;
- Develop and manage member professional development including online and in-person learning with the annual review of members selected for the audit of their PDCs;
- Administration of all member benefits & annual renewal programming including member benefit provider contracts;
- Develop and manage the CSEP membership loyalty program;
- Assist with the transition to a new CRM platform
Membership Services Committee:
- Act as the CSEP staff representative on the Membership Services Committee working with the Chair of the Committee to schedule and arrange meetings, set the agenda, record and share minutes and report outcomes of the committee to the CSEP Executive Director;
- Regularly report to the CSEP Member Services Committee Chair on the development, implementation and execution of current and long-range objectives;
- Prepare Member Services Committee updates and reports for the CSEP Executive Director;
- Act as a liaison and CSEP representative of CSEP members to various stakeholders’ events and meetings;
- Identify growth opportunities within member categories and new categories for consideration by the Board of Directors;
Organizational Leadership
- Accountable for the member services budget;
- Lead, mentor and manage staff of the Membership Services Department;
- Conduct Annual Individual Plan development and review with all staff reports including quarterly updates providing timely feedback to support the growth and development of the team;
- Participate and contribute to Senior Leadership discussions within the organization;
Awards:
- Oversee the CSEP awards and grants programming ensuring the communication and timing is well planned and managed internally and externally;
- Lead the coordination with the Professional Standards Program (who also offer awards) and Marketing/Communication to ensure all awards are communicated, reviewed, evaluated and prepared (citation preparation, printing and framing) for the presentation at the annual conference;
- Lead the coordination with other departments and committees as required to ensure all awards achieve objectives with fair competition;
- Identify opportunities for new awards consideration to be presented to the Board of Directors with input from the Committees of the Society;
Other:
- Review, implement and uphold CSEP operating plans and policies, the CSEP Code of Conduct, and CSEP-PSP standards;
- Attend meetings of the CSEP Member Services Committee, CSEP Conference Committee, Sub-Committees, and working groups as required;
- Prepare and deliver presentations to various sector stakeholders as needed;
- Other tasks as they align with strategic and operational plan
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in membership, marketing, or business development roles.
- 2–3 years of management experience, ideally overseeing staff, budgets, and strategic initiatives.
- Experience in membership-based organizations, associations, or subscription-driven businesses is strongly preferred.
- Bilingualism is an asset
