Join the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Foundation Board of Directors! Niagara Peninsula Conservation Foundation is seeking community members with a passion for conservation and nature to serve on our Board of Directors.

Founded in 1969, Niagara Peninsula Conservation Foundation (NPCF) is a registered environmental charity working to help people and organizations become connected to a healthier Niagara Peninsula watershed, raising funds for the environmental and educational initiatives of Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA).

The Board of Director Role

The NPCF governing body is a volunteer Board of Directors, providing strategic leadership, governance and operational and financial oversight of the organization. A fundraising/revenue generating Board, members bear a fiduciary duty to NPCF, its mission and its supporters.

Major Responsibilities

• Fundraising/revenue generation; major gifts, events and fundraising programs
• Governance and stewardship to ensure the long-term success of NPCF
• Promotion of NPCF and its mission within the Niagara peninsula community
• Engagement with key stakeholders including funders, partners, donors, and supporters
• Adherence to NPCF by-laws, policies, and purposes
• Approval and oversight of the annual budget
• Ensure the resources entrusted to NPCF further the strategic goals of NPCA

Expected Commitment from Board Members

Board members generously volunteer their time and resources, generally a few hours per month. Meetings are held quarterly at approximately 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in Thorold. Board members participate, as needed, in committees, events and other public-facing activities to help nurture donor relationships.

We are looking for candidates with skills, knowledge and enthusiasm in fundraising, conservation and nature, not-for-profit governance, communications, strategic planning and/or financial management, in addition to community connections across the Niagara Peninsula watershed.
