TEMBO is a dynamic non-profit organization committed to supporting local Tanzanian partners in providing educational empowerment opportunities to women and girls. The Board of Directors is a working board for this all-volunteer organization.

What you will do

• Provide strategic guidance and governance to the organization.
• Participate in board meetings and supporting board committees.
• Ensure the organization’s commitment to its mission and values.
• Oversee financial performance and risk management activities.
• Collaborate with other board members to set long-term goals and strategies.
• Board members are expected to complete a 3-year term.

What we are looking for

• Required Skills: Previous non-profit board experience. Proven experience (at least 5 years) in governance, legal or financial areas.
• Currently, TEMBO is filling two positions on the Board of Directors. One of the candidates should be a financial professional interested in potentially filling the role of Treasurer to the Board.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, strategic thinking are important.
• Optional Skills: An understanding of international development and/or fundraising would be beneficial.
