Member - Board of Directors
Since 1974, the Home County Folk League has brought people together through Canadian folk music. This summer, with the generous support of Donaldson Home Services, we’re proud to present the 50th edition of the Home County Music & Art Festival, continuing our tradition of celebrating music, art and community in Victoria Park, London, Ontario.
As we celebrate this milestone year and look ahead to our next chapter, we’re seeking passionate, community-minded individuals to join our leadership team and help shape the future of Home County.
Who We’re Looking For:
We are inviting applications from individuals interested in serving on our Board of Directors for a three-year term beginning at our Annual General Meeting in late November.
Our Board is hands-on and collaborative – a group of people who roll up their sleeves to make things happen. We’re especially interested in individuals who bring skills in areas such as nonprofit governance, finance, event management, marketing, communications, community engagement or fundraising – and who share our love of folk music, the arts and community connection.
What You Can Expect:
- Support and promote the Mission, Vision and Strategic Plan of the Home County Folk League
- Attend Board meetings, typically held the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 7 - 9 pm
- Review and follow governance and operational policies
- Actively participate in at least one Board committee (approximately. 10 hours/month)
- Engage with the organization’s activities both in-person and online
- Attend General Meetings of the membership
Why Join Us?
This is an exciting moment for Home County. As we celebrate our 50th festival and plan for the years ahead, we’re laying the groundwork for a vibrant and sustainable future. Joining the Board now means you’ll have a direct hand in shaping that future – helping ensure that folk music and community spirit continue to thrive in London for decades to come.
