Marketing & Communications Lead
***This is currently an unpaid volunteer position, with the opportunity to transition into a paid, full-time role as LandSeed secures program funding. We are in the final stages of securing funding for several initiatives, and our intention is to build this into a long-term staffed position.
LandSeed is seeking a dynamic Marketing & Communications Lead to help bring our programs to life in the public sphere. This role is about turning strategy into outreach, and outreach into meaningful engagement that grows awareness and trust in our mission.
As our Marketing & Communications Lead, you’ll be responsible for planning, executing, and refining communication strategies that promote LandSeed’s initiatives, programs, and village launches. You’ll ensure the right audiences — from municipalities to prospective homeowners to the broader public — understand and engage with what we’re building.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and execute program launches and campaigns.
Develop clear, compelling messaging that aligns with LandSeed’s mission and resonates with diverse audiences.
Lead public engagement strategies, including social media, email campaigns, newsletters, and press outreach.
Build and manage content calendars, ensuring consistent communication across platforms.
Collaborate with leadership, designers, and cross-functional teams to produce effective communications materials.
Strengthen LandSeed’s brand and storytelling across print, digital, and community-facing platforms.
Track, analyze, and report on campaign effectiveness to refine strategy.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related role (preferably in non-profit, housing, community development, or purpose-driven sectors).
Proven ability to translate strategy into clear, actionable campaigns.
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Experience managing community-focused or cause-driven campaigns.
Familiarity with digital marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar).
Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Comfortable working at both a strategic level (planning, positioning, messaging) and a tactical level (hands-on content creation and execution).
Collaborative team player who can work across leadership, partners, and creative contributors.
This role is key to helping LandSeed connect with communities, stakeholders, and the broader public. If you know how to turn ideas into interest — and interest into action — we’d love to work with you.
