Location: Hybrid (Remote with occasional in-person meetings or events as required)
Type: Full-Time Term Contract (8–16 weeks, May–August 2026; dependent on Canada Summer Jobs funding approval)
Wage: In accordance with Canada Summer Jobs guidelines
Start Date: Tentatively May 2026 (subject to funding confirmation)

This position is funded through the Government of Canada’s Canada Summer Jobs Program. Employment dates are subject to confirmation and funding approval.
About the Role
Under the supervision of the Communications team, the Marketing & Campaigns Coordinator Intern will support the development and activation of integrated marketing and fundraising campaigns that grow VHC’s corporate and individual donor pipeline. You will gain exposure to campaign strategy, creative briefing, performance analytics, community engagement, and data-driven optimization in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Development & Activation
- Support the creation and execution of integrated marketing and fundraising campaigns.
- Assist in developing creative and media briefs that inspire engagement and measurable results.
- Contribute to social media campaigns, blog posts, and email newsletters.
- Support the planning and execution of multi-channel campaigns across email, paid social, search, LinkedIn, content syndication, and community platforms.
- Develop marketing and fundraising collateral, including brochures, presentations, campaign toolkits, and digital assets.
- Coordinate photography and creative asset development as needed.
- Manage and maintain the social media content calendar in collaboration with internal teams.
Community Engagement & Growth
- Engage with VHC’s online community and partner content to increase brand visibility and donor engagement.
- Identify audience growth opportunities across platforms.
- Support strategies that move prospects through the awareness-to-donation pipeline.
Market Research & Performance Optimization
- Conduct research on nonprofit and national charity trends to inform campaign positioning.
- Translate research insights into timely campaign tests and messaging refinements.
- Assist with tracking and reporting on campaign performance metrics (engagement, conversions, pipeline growth).
- Support A/B testing and iterative campaign improvements based on data insights.
Technical Skills & Tools
- Familiarity with platforms such as Salesforce, Adobe Creative Suite, LinkedIn, Instagram, and email marketing tools is an asset.
- Comfortable reviewing performance dashboards and campaign analytics.
Who You Are
You are a creative and analytical individual, and eager to gain experience in nonprofit marketing and fundraising strategy.
You are:
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
- A strong communicator with both writing and visual storytelling skills
- Organized and capable of managing multiple projects
- Curious about campaign performance metrics and optimization
- Passionate about community impact and purpose-driven work
Experience in digital marketing, content creation, or nonprofit environments is considered an

- Age (as required by Canada Summer Jobs eligibility)
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person granted refugee protection
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in Canada
