As the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will be instrumental in amplifying Tech2Step’s voice and mission. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience managing communications, crafting compelling content, and driving engagement across multiple platforms. Working closely with the leadership team, you will help shape our brand, promote events, and build stronger connections within and beyond the tech community.
Please note: This is a volunteer, unpaid position. We welcome candidates passionate about making an impact through strategic marketing and communications. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase visibility and engagement for Tech2Step’s programs and events.
  • Manage content creation across digital channels including social media, newsletters, website updates, and promotional materials.
  • Collaborate with event organizers to design compelling campaigns that drive participation and awareness.
  • Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics to optimize outreach efforts.
  • Support branding initiatives ensuring consistent messaging and visual identity across all communications.
  • Maintain and grow Tech2Step’s online community through active engagement and relationship building.
  • Contribute to special projects, research, and strategy development as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in marketing, communications, or social media management preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms, email marketing tools, content management systems, and basic graphic design (e.g., Canva).
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in the tech sector.
  • Comfort working remotely and collaborating virtually with a distributed team.
