Accountability: Reporting to Director, Operations (Donor Services).
Salary: $87,200 annually, plus pension and a generous, comprehensive benefits package that includes dedicated funds for professional development.
Hours of Work: 35-hour work week, Monday – Friday. For most of us, most weeks we work a 32-hour week Monday to Thursday.

About the Position
The Manager, Stewardship leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of stewardship strategies that strengthen fund advisor and donor engagement across Vancouver Foundation. The role is responsible for helping to inform compelling, impact-focused storytelling; analyzing engagement data; and designing stewardship practices that align with organizational engagement goals, enhance donor experience, deepen loyalty, and highlight community impact. Working closely with Communications, Engagement, and the rest of the Donor Services department, the Manager ensures alignment across all donor-facing materials, digital platforms, and events.
Reporting to the Director, Operations, the Manager oversees stewardship content, donor communications, dashboards, and reporting, while guiding improvements to the donor portal and digital engagement touchpoints. The role also leads or contributes to donor events, online engagement initiatives, and cross-departmental collaboration to ensure donors receive accurate, timely, and coordinated information. The Manager plays a key role in ensuring stewardship activities uphold legal, ethical, and organizational standards, and that all interactions reflect Vancouver Foundation’s commitment to transparency, equity, and community connection.
This role combines strategic stewardship design, content leadership, and relationship insight. It requires strong judgment, narrative skill, and the ability to balance creativity with data-driven decision-making.
About You
You are an experienced stewardship professional who excels at crafting compelling narratives, interpreting engagement data, and designing meaningful donor experiences. You bring strong communication and project‑management skills, collaborate effectively across teams, and approach stewardship with creativity, insight, and strategic intention. You value equity, accuracy, and relationship‑centred practice, contributing to a donor experience grounded in clarity, care, and community impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement stewardship strategies in partnership with the Director, Operations, to deepen engagement, strengthen loyalty, and enhance the overall experience for fund advisors and donors.
- Analyze engagement data to identify gaps, opportunities, and trends, preparing recommendations that improve stewardship effectiveness and partner satisfaction while aligning with organizational engagement goals
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of stewardship strategies; prepare dashboards, reports, and insights to inform continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Director, Evaluation to align evaluative approaches and outcomes to ensure knowledge collection and dissemination are a consistent experience for stakeholders
- Partner with internal teams to improve the donor portal and other digital touchpoints, ensuring they are intuitive, informative, and aligned with standard stewardship practices.
- Collaborate closely with Communications and Engagement on curating and developing high-quality, narrative driven content for information materials, newsletters, magazine, campaigns, storytelling initiatives, and donor portal content to ensure alignment and brand consistency.
- Collaborate with Engagement to deliver events and convenings that serve donors, the organization, and the sector at large
- Plan and support donor stewardship events, including logistics and program content.
- Manage online engagement initiatives including content, features, and donor interactions to enhance donor experience and increase visibility of community impact.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of stewardship strategies; prepare reports and dashboards.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of stewardship activities, donor interactions, and engagement metrics within CRM systems.
- Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards across all stewardship activities.
- Work in partnership with Finance, Communications, and DS colleagues to ensure that donors and partners receive timely, accurate, and coordinated information.
- Represent Vancouver Foundation externally at events, presentations, and engagement opportunities as needed.
- Engages Fund Advisors in the granting work of Vancouver Foundation, at the same time balancing that with the Advisory’s personal interests.

Requirements
Education/Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in donor stewardship, fund development, or donor relations within the charitable sector.
- Experience in communications, marketing, or related field, to a variety of audiences.
- Experience in event planning and data analysis for engagement strategies.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
