About Pearl’s Value & Vintage: Pearl’s Value & Vintage (or Pearl’s as it’s lovingly referred to) is the social enterprise arm of PearlSpace. It is also so much more than this. It is a community store, a beloved retail destination for locals and tourists alike, a sustainable store promoting circular economy and reducing waste in our landfills, and a vital resource for many. It is also BUSTLING! Sales at Pearl’s have grown at an incredible pace over the past 10 years. The profits support the underfunded operations and program areas of PearlSpace ensuring the society can deliver critical front line crisis response services to survivors of gender-based violence throughout the Sea to Sky Corridor.
Position Summary: The Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Pearl’s Value & Vintage, ensuring it operates efficiently, ethically, and in alignment with the mission and values of PearlSpace. This role balances operational excellence with community-centered leadership, ensuring the store contributes both financially and socially to the sustainability of the organization’s programs.
The Manager provides leadership in retail operations, including staff and volunteer supervision, merchandising, inventory control, customer service, and financial oversight. They cultivate a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for staff, volunteers, donors, and customers. Beyond operational responsibilities, the Manager plays a key role in fostering a store culture rooted in empowerment, autonomy, and collaboration. They ensure practices reflect an intersectional feminist and trauma-informed approach—centering respect, dignity, and equity in all interactions.
The Manager of Social Enterprise models and supports values of care and community connection, recognizing that the store is not only a retail space but also a place of belonging, relationship building, and social change. They empower staff and volunteers to develop skills, exercise leadership, and contribute meaningfully. By integrating trauma-informed practices into day-to-day operations, the Manager ensures the store environment remains accessible, compassionate, and responsive to the community.
Location: based in Squamish

Skills and Attributes:
- Oversee daily store operations, including cash handling, opening and closing procedures, and ensuring compliance with financial and safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment that is accessible and inclusive to all staff, volunteers, donors, and customers.
- Support staff and volunteers in keeping work areas—including the cash desk and donation spaces—tidy, safe, and free from clutter.
- Provide leadership to staff and volunteers, ensuring consistency of values, care, and operational flow.
- Ensure that customer service is exemplary to donors and shoppers alike.
- Skilled in trauma-informed, non-judgmental crisis response, conflict resolution, and support for individuals facing mental health challenges, homelessness, or substance use;
- Flexible, calm under pressure, and able to manage stress in dynamic environments;
- Highly organized, adaptable, and solutions-focused;
- Strong communicator with effective time management and digital literacy;
- Current Basic First Aid Certification (OFA Level 1 or equivalent);
- Reliable vehicle and a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License.
