Duties & Responsibilities

Attract and Recruit Diverse Candidates

  • Build on current recruitment and hiring processes to attract quality diverse volunteers

  • Develop talent pipelines with higher education and community partners

  • Define, create, and execute the communications strategy and branding for recruitment and talent acquisition, providing an exciting and accurate preview to candidates who are considering volunteering with Imagine Cities

  • Build and maintain systems to track and communicate with candidates

Onboard and Train Employees

  • Implement and continually improve the onboarding and training process, making sure that volunteers feel welcomed, informed, and equipped to take on their new roles.

Lead Culture-Building

  • Contribute to the development of a robust culture through role modeling Imagine Cities values and the behaviours which drive this culture

  • Design and lead initiatives including research and diagnostics (e.g. annual volunteer engagement survey and quarterly town halls), to maximize the engagement of all volunteers and build organizational commitment to the desired culture

  • Contribute to the development and achievement of Imagine Cities' medium and long-term strategy, ensuring effective inclusion of key people and cultural considerations

  • Work in partnership with Imagine Cities Communications team on effective internal communications in support of organizational development

  • Scope, develop and lead the implementation of the Diversity & Inclusion Strategy


Qualifications

  • Graduated or enrolled in a University degree or College diploma or certificate program

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to supervise and motivate volunteers

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Sound computer skills including operating Google Suite

  • Willingness to learn about the nonprofit sector
