CARE Canada is looking for a Spanish Speaking Grants Finance and Compliance Manager!

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Grants Finance and Compliance, the Grants Finance and Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial management and accounting of a portfolio of donor-funded programs. The role ensures that all contractual, financial, and compliance requirements are met, while supporting strong, effective project financial management across the portfolio.

Guided by CARE Canada’s commitment to locally led and empowered programming, the Grants Finance and Compliance Manager plays a key role in promoting and implementing best practices in grants financial management. This includes ensuring compliance with donor regulations, analyzing project expenditures, investigating and explaining variances, and identifying and mitigating financial and compliance risks.

The role requires a strong understanding of the full project accounting lifecycle and involves the ongoing review, analysis, and monitoring of portfolio performance to support accurate planning, forecasting, and achievement of CARE Canada’s program budget targets. The Grants Finance and Compliance Manager also provides technical support, advice, and capacity-building support to Country Office colleagues, as required.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Comprehensive knowledge and skills in contracts negotiations with various Government agencies, international UN agencies & private donors for Humanitarian emergencies response funding. 
  • An ability to readily see the financial and reporting implications of the terms and conditions in donor contracts 
  • A thorough understanding of budgetary processes and variance analysis 
  • A thorough understanding of accounting processes as they impact on the overall financial system 
  • A good appreciation of the need to provide timely and reliable information to senior management and to donors 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English 
  • Ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance personnel in a simple manner, without the technical / accounting jargon 
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally (a valid passport will be required) 
  • Strong computer skills specifically in Excel, Outlook and the Windows operating environment 

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU EXTRAORDINARY

  • Experience working for an International non-government organisation (INGO)
  • Professional accounting designation

REQUIREMENTS
