
Manager, Donor Stewardship & Community Giving
Position: Manager, Donor Stewardship & Community Giving (Full Time Permanent)
Reports to: Vice President, Partnership and Development
Location: Hybrid (two days in the office per week). Primary location is the Lung Health Foundation’s office in Toronto, with occasional travel within Ontario and across Canada as required. Some evening and weekend work may be required, based on operational needs.
Salary Range: $72,000 to $80,000

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager, Donor Stewardship & Community Giving will be instrumental in supporting and enhancing our Community Giving programs. Your responsibilities will include managing and executing strategies across various fundraising channels to drive donor acquisition retention and revenue growth across giving programs including direct response, tribute and memorial giving, monthly and mid-level donors, legacy giving and 3rd party events. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the above-mentioned community giving and stewardship programs, ensuring an exceptional donor experience. RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Mail
• Lead Direct Mail end-to-end with support from marketing & communications and finance/DFC
department, to drive revenue and grow the donor base for the direct mail program, monthly donor
program and digital donor efforts including, Legacy, Will, In Honour, In Memory, Cards.
• Liaise with external Direct Mail partners including Canada Post and Mail-O-Matic to ensure
mailings run on time and on budget.
• Delivering on all tactics to support acquisition, renewal and upgrade programs – from briefing
creative services and external agencies; reviewing and approving of creative; setting up of all
tagging and tracking; testing.
• Monitoring and analyzing the performance of all Direct Mail and Donor Stewardship programs
within Salesforce CRM, providing hypotheses and narrative on results; using data to inform and
refine fundraising strategies.
• Ensuring and maintaining Salesforce data accuracy and integrity in accordance with the
Foundation’s policies and procedures.
• Internal Lead for Telefundraising Pilot test for lapsed donors.
• Develop and share regular reports with VP Partnerships and Development specific to DM and
Stewardship performance.
Stewardship
• Lead the development and implementation of LHF Stewardship Matrix in collaboration with
Development and Donor Fulfilment Center (DFC) Team. Inclusive of activities, ensuring partners
and donors receive accurate and appropriate acknowledgement, stewardship reports, payment
renewal letters and thank you calls.
• Internal Stewardship Lead for community lead third party events, KPI: support 4 local third-party
community events per year (ie: community hockey tournament, school bake sale, dance studio
dance-o-thon). Revenue target $10,000 (third-party community partnership asset exists for
amplification).
• Lead the mid-donor program, advancing 150–200 top prospects toward major gift readiness.
• Cultivate and solicit mid-to-major level gifts from foundations.
• Steward existing supporters and manage a pipeline of like-minded foundations, including
developing tailored materials, conducting outreach, and maintaining ongoing engagement.
• Conduct regular solicitation and stewardship calls to deepen relationships and drive revenue
growth.
• Monitor and research the giving landscape for new fundraising or engagement opportunities and
fundraising best practices to grow the community portfolio.
• Work closely with the Senior Manager, Development, and Senior Leadership Team on the Major
Gift program.
• Updating all activities and prospect information within the organization’s Salesforce CRM system.
• Other duties as assigned.
Will and Legacy Program
• Manage the Will Campaign program which includes regularly communicating with donors and
lawyers across the country.
• Liaising with Epilogue (our third-party online Will partner).
• Find opportunities to enhance and grow this program.
Donor Centered Initaitves & Digital Campaigns
• Support Manager Marketing and team with stewardship efforts specific to Digital Revenue
inclusive of by not limited to Giving Tuesday and Holiday Campaign and 50/50 lottery – securing
matching sponsors, in-kind donations, raffle prizing, etc.
• Proactively recommend strategies and campaigns to support the achievement of revenue targets
throughout the year.
• Leading on recruiting, training and managing volunteers that are supporting Integrated Marketing
fundraising efforts.
• Proactively reviewing processes, procedures and operations to look for efficiencies and ensure
documentation and implementation of best practices.
• Promote a culture of inclusion, with a commitment to equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion
initiatives designed to foster an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming work environment for
individuals with diverse backgrounds and identities.
Additional Responsibilities
• Other fundraising projects as required to support Partnerships and Development Team.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Post-secondary education preferably in fundraising, communication, marketing and/or business,
or equivalent experience
• Three years’ experience in fundraising, administrative support, or coordination experience
• Experience with Salesforce CRM fundraising software (donor segmentation, dashboard creation
and data management)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and adept at using tact, diplomacy and discretion with donors, agency
partners, suppliers and Foundation and Hospital Staff
• Team player with demonstrated ability to work independently with minimum supervision and an
ability to self-manage effectively in a changing environment with multiple conflicting demands
• Excellent organizational, project and time management skills
• Ability to condense and package information in a visually appealing and logical manner
• Understand the need for professionalism, discretion and patience when communicating with
donors and stakeholders
• Accuracy and attention to detail are imperative
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft applications (365, Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
Outlook), CANVA, data entry into and reporting from database system, and chat and video
conferencing programs
• Experience using social media platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, X and Instagram an asset
