We are seeking a dynamic and relationship-oriented individual to be an integral member of our philanthropy team. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Manager of Corporate Relations’ principal responsibility will be to foster and solicit new and existing corporate partners to maximize revenue generation.
As the Manager of Corporate Relations, you will be responsible for all activities related to growing UWWR’s corporate donor base, including the management of assigned accounts.
Key responsibilities include leading the development and execution of the Corporate Fundraising strategy, with primary focus being prospecting for new corporate donors and workplace accounts. Responsibilities include lead generation, profile research, connecting with corporations and securing donations, sponsorships, matching gifts and community partnerships, all while promoting the values of United Way. Stewardship of these donor organisations is essential for the success of this position and long-term success of UWWR.
You are an extremely focused individual who works well both in a small team and individually, who is organized and uses a well-established process of planning and organizing workload. With excellent time management, you have a clear sense of priority with flexibility to respond to shifting needs. Efficient, resourceful, and professional with great customer service skills, you’re confident in working collaboratively with all team members and volunteers, and capable of working under pressure. Your excellent data entry and attention to detail skills are key to success in this position.
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge of fundraising and donor stewardship acquired through at least five years' experience in the non-profit sector and fundraising.
- An undergraduate degree in a related field is an asset.
- Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive strategies to cultivate, solicit and steward donors.
- Familiarity with Waterloo Region and knowledge of the relevant sectors of the community e.g. individuals, groups and organizations, corporations, and foundations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to enable the effective communication of the mission, vision and guiding principles of UWWR.
- Strong management skills with the ability to lead, support and motivate.
- Motivated, energetic and enthusiastic self-starter who can balance the need to work independently with the need to contribute collaboratively as part of a team.
- Highly professional, tactful, mature, conscientious with a high degree of personal integrity.
