Hockey Helps the Homeless

Hockey Helps the Homeless (HHTH) is a national registered charity that coordinates and executes one-day pro-am hockey tournaments, along with corporate engagement campaigns and other exciting events. Through events held from coast-to-coast, HHTH raises funds and awareness for local agencies fighting homelessness. Since 1996, HHTH has granted over $37M directly back into the communities where each event is held.

Manager; Corporate Partnerships & Fundraising – Job Overview

The Manager – Corporate Partnerships & Fundraising is a strategic role focused on growing HHTH’s revenue through sponsorship, fundraising, grant writing, and donor development. This person owns the sponsorship pipeline – from prospecting through stewardship – while also developing the tools, resources, and communications strategies that help participants and donors give more. They work closely with the Senior Manager - Business Development to build sustainable, diversified revenue streams for the organization.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities

Sponsorship Pipeline & Business Development

  • Identify, research, and qualify new corporate sponsorship prospects at local and national levels
  • Build and manage a structured sponsorship pipeline, tracking outreach, proposals, and deal status
  • Develop compelling sponsorship packages and proposals tailored to prospective partners, in collaboration with the Senior Manager - Business Development
  • Lead negotiations and close sponsorship agreements in collaboration with the Senior Manager - Business Development and Executive Director

Sponsor & Donor Stewardship

  • Develop and execute a sponsorship and donor stewardship plan – ensuring partners and donors feel valued, informed, engaged and appreciated year-round
  • Cultivate relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors with the goal of long-term retention and growth
  • Utilize existing communication tools to optimize messaging and relationship building with existing donors and sponsors

Fundraising Development

  • Stay current on fundraising trends and best practices in the charitable sector
  • Develop and maintain a library of fundraising resources to help event participants maximize their fundraising impact (toolkits, templates, how-to guides, email scripts)
  • Support peer-to-peer fundraising strategy, identifying opportunities to increase average fundraising per participant
  • Track and analyze fundraising performance across events and campaigns, surfacing insights and recommendations

Partnership Fulfillment & Reporting

  • Coordinate regular reporting for national partners, tracking deliverables and impact
  • Own partnership fulfillment end-to-end – tracking sponsor assets and benefits across events and ensuring all commitments are delivered
  • Liaise with national partners on logistics and activation details, serving as their primary point of contact year-round

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with the Senior Manager - Business Development on revenue strategy, targets, and growth opportunities
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team on partner-facing and donor-facing materials
  • Maintain accurate records in tracking systems and provide regular pipeline reports
  • Assist Operations and Business Development team with on-site support for events

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in sponsorship sales, business development, fundraising, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to manage corporate relationships and close deals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Experience developing fundraising resources or donor communication is an asset
  • Passion for the HHTH mission and community impact
  • Passion for hockey is an asset
  • Experience in the chartable or non-profit sector is an asset
