The opportunity

Kids Help Phone Foundation is seeking a Manager, Communications to help inspire generosity and raise funds across Canada to deliver on KHP’s promise to youth.
The successful candidate will craft compelling messages that resonate with employees, donors, stakeholders, and the public, while working closely with our CEO and senior communications leaders to amplify the Foundation’s impact in youth mental health fundraising and philanthropy. The responsibilities
- Develop and execute the CEO’s communications strategy, including internal and external messaging.
- Create engaging content for employees, donors, stakeholders, and the public (emails, intranet posts, Town Halls, presentations, talking points, and briefing materials).
- Support Board communications and special events with prepared materials and speaking notes.
- Manage and elevate the CEO’s social media presence, primarily on LinkedIn, to increase visibility and engagement.
- Attend CEO events and speaking engagements, ensuring materials are prepared and coordinating with departments to maximize impact.
- Ensure all communications reflect our commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA).
- Support media opportunities and promote the CEO’s thought leadership in youth mental health fundraising and philanthropy.
The qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in corporate, executive, or public affairs communications.
- Strong executive communications skills: writing, editing, speechwriting, and storytelling.
- Experience in non-profit or charity communications, especially with donors
- Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills, able to work cross-functionally and with senior leadership.
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail.
- Calm under pressure, adaptable, and a natural relationship-builder.
- Bilingual in English and French is an asset but not required.
