Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations, implement Board policies, and maintain organized systems
  • Recruit, supervise, schedule, and support staff; manage performance and employee relations
  • Ensure high-quality programming aligned with Ontario frameworks (ELECT, How Does Learning Happen?)
  • Monitor budgets, expenses, and records; coordinate reporting and audits
  • Provide updates, attend meetings, and implement Board decisions
  • Serve as a key contact for families and foster strong relationships
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and licensing requirements including the Child Care and Early Years Act, Public Health requirements, and licensing standards
  • Ensure compliance with employment related legislation (ESA, OHSA, AODA, Human Rights Code)
  • Maintain documentation and records required for inspections and audits
  • Support health and safety practices, including staff training and incident management
  • Ensure adherence to all licensing, health & safety, and employment legislation

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in childcare management or supervisory roles
  • Diploma/Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • RECE in good standing
  • Valid First Aid & CPR (Level C) and Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
