The Canadian Agricultural Human Resource Council (CAHRC) is a national, non-profit organization delivering trusted labour market information (LMI), skills analysis, training and workforce solutions for Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sector.

Our work supports a resilient and innovative workforce across the food, fuel, and fibre value chain—helping the sector respond to evolving labour, skills, and productivity challenges. CAHRC leads the National Workforce Strategic Plan (NWSP) for Agriculture and Food and Beverage Manufacturing and advances inclusive workforce initiatives, including those focused on women in agriculture and Indigenous engagement.

Agriculture and agri-food is a dynamic, technology-enabled sector where employers are environmental stewards, economic contributors, and essential to Canada’s food security. CAHRC collaborates with industry, government, and partners across Canada to ensure decisions are evidence-based and impactful.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Products & Services, the Manager, AgriTalent will lead the development and delivery of innovative work-integrated learning, experiential learning, and student wage subsidy programs that support the future workforce of Canada's agriculture and agri-food sector. This role is responsible for managing program planning, implementation, budgets, partnerships, and performance outcomes while ensuring initiatives meet funding requirements and industry needs. The successful candidate is a strategic, relationship-focused professional who excels at building partnerships with employers, post-secondary institutions, career development professionals, and industry stakeholders. Through a collaborative, positive, and results-driven approach, they will expand employer engagement, create meaningful opportunities for students, identify new program and business opportunities, and drive successful outcomes that advance CAHRC's mission and strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain quality of AgriTalent programs, products and services, including all access mechanisms.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders and liaise with stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of products and services.
  • Secure and liaise with project champions and stakeholders.
  • Identify new and emerging needs of stakeholders and communicate service options to secure new partners and business.
  • Ensure the preparation and dissemination of marketing and communications materials for AgriTalent programs, product and services including presentation materials, emails, brochures, social media materials, website content to clarify unique features and value to various stakeholder groups.
  • Monitor, track and report on program uptake and usage.
  • Develop updates and new products as project initiatives.
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project.
  • Conduct research and development activities as required to support project including the preparation of communication materials.
  • Apply project-related procedures and enforce project standards.
  • Perform project quality control and assurance, liaising with team, management and funding authority and preparing reports as required.
  • Manage the invoicing process to ensure completed on a timely basis to meet monthly forecast and schedules.
  • Deliver high quality outputs in compliance with agreed time and budget constraints and to the satisfaction of the clients and stakeholders including all required project reports.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately including all project management files, communications, drafts, deliverables and reports.
  • Establish project scope, identify activities, schedule and costing and maintain as necessary.
  • Prepare proposals for future business as required.
  • Work with other members of the senior management team to support overall organizational success.
  • Travel to events and meetings (20-30% of job).

Qualifications

EDUCATION

College diploma, University Bachelor degree in Business, Agriculture or related discipline.

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 3 years of experience in a Program/Project Manager related role.
  • At least 2 years working with post-secondary institutions and training organizations.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with wage subsidy programs, work integrated learning and/or experiential learning programs.
  • At least 1 year experience as a co-op or WIL practitioner, or guidance counselor desirable) At least 1 year experience working in non-profit organization (desirable).

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint software.
  • Knowledge of project management and CRM platforms, such as Monday.com.
  • Knowledge of Magnet platform (desireable)

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

CEWIL WIL Practitioner Certificate (desirable).

Project Management Professional Certification (desirable).

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $70,000 –$80,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Benefits: Comprehensive group benefits following a three-month probation period.

Vacation: Four weeks annually.

Sick Leave: Twelve paid sick days per year.

Retirement: Mandatory participation in a 50/50 RRSP program with a 5% employer contribution.
