Organization Perks and Rewards
- Salary: $100,000 – $110,000 inclusive of bonus
- 3 weeks vacation + 10 sick days
- RRSP matching (5%)
- Hybrid work model (typically 2 days in-office)
The Opportunity!
You’ll report directly to senior leadership and play a key role in ensuring accounting processes run smoothly, while also helping enhance systems and workflows across the organization.
Accounting & Financial Management
- Lead accounts AR and cash management, while overseeing all AP activities
- Manage full-cycle accounting, including general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting analysis
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Lead the year-end audit process, including preparation of working papers and liaison with auditors and third parties
- Lead payroll processing and ensure compliance with legislation
- Manage government remittances and regulatory filings
Operations & Administration
- Oversee office operations and third-party vendors
- Support and improve operational systems and workflows
- Identify opportunities for efficiencies and process improvements
- Contribute to policies, procedures, and risk management practices
- Provide guidance and mentorship to a small team
- Participate in special projects and organizational initiatives
What you bring to the job
You are someone who has strong experience with full-cycle accounting, reporting, and payroll. You thrive in a hands-on, evolving environment and you come with the below qualifications.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Proficiency with Excel, Microsoft 365, and accounting systems
- Experience working with CRM or Association Management Systems (AMS)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across teams
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and ability to take initiative
- Flexible and adaptable, with a growth mindset
- Exceptional integrity, sound judgment, and discretion in handling confidential financial information
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation (or in progress)
- Non-profit or charitable sector experience
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and ADP
