About the Organization: ABLE2: Support for People with Disabilities (ABLE2) is an organization that has been present in the community and delivering services to individuals with disabilities for 50 years. ABLE2 believes in an inclusive community where all people are seen as able, respected, and valued. People with disabilities face many challenges, our programs and services empower persons of all ages across the disability spectrum and their families to live lives of meaning and joy as valued members of our community. Summary: With funding from The Law Foundation of Ontario, the Reach Legal Program is delivering a project focused on increasing access to justice for its clients and service users through the utilization of an accessible Legal Library and Chat Box over a two-year period which ends on March 31, 2027. ABLE2 is seeking a Project Coordinator for 14 hours per week to complete the delivery of this project for the Reach Legal Program. Compensation for this project is $32 per hour. Description of position: The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the development and execution of:


• Translating the project’s goals into measurable objectives, developing measures and quantitative and qualitative data collection tools; analysing evidence of effectiveness and sustainability of the Plain Language Legal Library and its Chat Box.


• Conducting periodic legal environmental scans to identify legal topics for the Plain Language Legal Library. This includes including determining relevant subjects, format, and targeted audience (people with disabilities, their families, professionals and workers who provide services to people with disabilities).


• Scheduling and resourcing periodic meetings of the Advisory Group and any other action groups; preparing briefing materials; documenting recommendations regarding legal topic proposals (for the Plain Language Legal Library) and administration (of the Chat Box).


• Legal resources for law student volunteers, clients and service users of the Reach Legal Program.


• Regular video meetings, and occasional in-person meetings with the legal referral program volunteers to facilitate onboarding training and supervision.


• Identifying and conducting outreach to appropriate legal educational institutions to expand the law student volunteer database for the Reach Legal Program.


• Surveying partner legal educational institutions for feedback regarding their students’ volunteering experience with the Program.


• Workshops and seminars to promote the Reach Legal Program and provide information on how to narrow the gaps faced by marginalized populations in access to justice.


• Tracking of activities related to the project through periodic reports and periodic meetings

with Advisory Committee and Executive Team.


• Completion of timely reports for funders, partners and other stakeholders as required.


• Travel within Ottawa as required, and Ontario as needed Job Qualifications and Requirements


• Licensed Ontario Lawyer


• Bilingual (French/English)


• Experience developing and delivering educational or training programs.


• Experience with project reporting.


• Supervisory experience or experiential learning techniques for law students.


• Strong written communication, active listening, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.


• Professional, empathetic and a positive attitude.


• Ability to work remotely and on-site as required.


• Access to reliable transportation


• Experience with database and spreadsheet software.


• Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) certification and additional training or knowledge of matters related to disability is an asset.

Hours of Work: 14 hours per week Job Type: Part time, Contract (21 months) Salary Range: $32 per hour ABLE2 offers:
