- The Organization - Partners in Education Ethiopia-Education for Change
Our mission is to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and youth through quality, inclusive education. We follow a holistic approach to addressing the multiple barriers to education in underserved communities. Communities contribute initial projects and contribute 60-80% of project costs, ensuring local ownership and sustainability.
We focus on Ethiopia because of the need. The Ethiopian government, with support from civil society and other development partners, has put significant effort into increasing access to education. However, an estimated 13 million children are still out of school, 3.5 million are at risk of dropping out of school, and only 33.1% of students make it to secondary school.
