
Learning & Development Specialist (Remote/Unpaid Volunteer):
Join Empowered Futures as a Learning & Development Specialist and help shape the future for emerging adults as they transition into adulthood. We are a forward-thinking nonprofit committed to building confident, emotionally intelligent, and resourceful young adults through self-empowerment, mentorship, and community support.
As a Learning & Development Specialist, you’ll lead the development and delivery of inclusive and purpose-driven learning programs that strengthen volunteer capacity, grow leadership pipelines, and reinforce EF Connect's impact.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, creation, and execution of learning and development initiatives across the organization.
- Develop materials including onboarding training, DEI resources, skill workshops, and leadership toolkits.
- Deliver workshops, resource walkthroughs, or info sessions that support volunteer and mentor development.
- Collaborate with the Org Development & Culture Lead to ensure initiatives are engagement- and equity-informed.
- Use feedback tools, survey data, and engagement trends to iterate and improve learning experiences.
- Leverage technologies (e.g., Loom, Google Slides, Notion) to deliver training in scalable, accessible formats.
- Align all learning and growth initiatives with the goals of EF Connect to enhance mentor and mentee experiences.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in onboarding, people operations, or volunteer engagement (paid or volunteer-based).
- Education: Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field is an asset Equivalent practical or volunteer experience will also be considered.
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills; confident written and verbal communicator.
- Comfortable using digital tools and collaborative platforms in a fully remote environment.
- Passionate about building community, creating belonging, and empowering purpose-driven volunteers.
- Proactive, self-directed, and able to operate with limited supervision.
- Passion for youth development and purpose-driven volunteerism
- Comfortable working independently in a remote team environment
- Proficiency in Google Workspace
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong interpersonal and coordination skills
