Kids Write 4 Kids (KW4K) is a national youth writing contest that engages students across Canada, with winning stories professionally published. We’re looking for a Program Coordinator to support the annual contest by keeping timelines on track, coordinating activities across the team, and ensuring everything runs smoothly from launch through winner announcement. You’ll work closely with a small team across outreach, PR, email marketing, and social media to bring the contest to life.

What you'll be doing:

  • Coordinating the contest timeline and key milestones
  • Organizing submissions and preparing materials for judging
  • Supporting communication with judges and participants
  • Supporting coordination across outreach, PR, email marketing, and social media to ensure alignment
  • Coordinating outreach and campaign activities with team members
  • Helping ensure website updates and communications stay aligned

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through
  • Clear and professional communication
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Some experience in project coordination, administration, events, education, or nonprofit work is an asset
  • Comfortable working with tools like Google Docs, Sheets, and shared folders
  • Able to manage timelines and keep tasks organized independently
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle structured, process-driven work

Volunteer Commitment: Approximately 3–5 hours per week, with increased involvement during key periods of the contest cycle. This role requires a minimum commitment of 2 years to ensure continuity and consistency across annual contest cycles.
