Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Passion for helping others and making a difference in the community.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of staff and volunteers.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene.
- Effective communication skills
- Assist in Meal Preparation and Preparation of Baked Goods: Prepare nutritious meals for our clients/residents. Tasks may include chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and following recipes.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Help maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring all equipment is properly stored after use.
- Manage Inventory: Assist in managing inventory levels by keeping track of food supplies.
- Grocery Shopping: Visit local stores or markets to purchase food items and supplies needed for meal preparation, ensuring adherence to budget guidelines and maintaining detailed records of purchases.
- Support Special Dietary Needs: Be mindful of dietary restrictions and preferences when assisting with meal preparation and grocery shopping, ensuring all meals meet nutritional guidelines and accommodate specific needs.
- Adhere to Health and Safety Standards: Follow proper food handling procedures and safety protocols to maintain a safe environment for yourself, other volunteers, and our clients/residents.
