About the Role

What You’ll Do
- Manage day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, preparing payments, monitoring outstanding balances, and ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes by assisting with journal entries, reconciliations, preparing necessary schedules, and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of financial data in accordance with organizational policies and not-for-profit accounting standards
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and documentation, ensuring proper filing, compliance with audit requirements, and adherence to internal controls and financial management best practices
- Work closely with the Director of Finance on special projects and financial initiatives, contributing to process improvements, system enhancements, and strategic priorities that support the organization’s mission
What We’re Looking For
- Completion of a diploma/degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
- Eligible or working towards obtaining accounting designation (e.g. CPA)
- Excellent Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Willingness and ability to learn new technical skills and related concepts
- High level of attention to detail and problem-solving skills; excellent at meeting deadlines and managing workload
- Strong communication skills with the ability to respond to emails in a timely manner
- A service orientation with a genuine desire and commitment to help your colleagues and willing to take initiative on tasks and assignments
