Join Our Board of Directors Hamilton Urban Core Community Health Centre (HUCCHC)
Help shape the future of community health in Hamilton!
Hamilton Urban Core is a downtown Hamilton community health centre providing primary health
care and wrap-around services to people living in poverty, racialized communities, newcomers,
and people who use drugs. We are actively seeking dynamic leaders to support the organization’s
next phase of growth. Successful candidates will demonstrate a passion for our mission and
commitment to the values of the organization. Successful candidates will be expected to work in
a strong team environment, with keen analytical skills and the ability to be a visionary. We prefer
candidates who have previous board experience; however, we are willing to extend opportunities
to exceptional individuals who will commit to learning.

Who We’re Looking For?
The HUCCHC Board of Directors encourages applications from individuals who reflect these
diverse identities. All individuals have multiple identities, and the intersection of these identities
are also important perspectives that our Board values. We fully understand that one person could

candidates who reflect this diversity.

What’s Involved?
Meetings: About 10 board meetings a year (evenings, virtual or in-person).
Committees & Planning: Join a committee and attend occasional planning sessions.
Commitment: About 6–8 hours a month.
Training: We provide orientation, governance, and anti-racism training.
Term: 3 years (renewable up to 3 terms).
Support: Accommodations are available to remove barriers to participation.
