Would you like to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and youth with disabilities in Windsor-Essex? Consider joining the John McGivney Children’s Centre (JMCC) Board of Directors.

At JMCC, we provide family-centred, holistic care to our community, enriching the lives of children and youth with special needs by helping them reach their full potential. By joining our Board, you can contribute to our mission and play a vital role in shaping the future of our organization.

About the JMCC Board of Directors
The JMCC Board of Directors is comprised of up to 12 volunteer members, each bringing diverse skills and expertise. Together, we ensure the effective governance and strategic leadership of JMCC.

Our Mandate:

  • Provide strategic guidance and governance for JMCC.
  • Influence and contribute to the organization’s Strategic Plan.
  • Attend monthly Board Meetings and the Annual General Meeting.
  • Serve on at least one Board Committee, with monthly committee meetings.
  • Represent JMCC within the Windsor-Essex community.
  • Dedicate time to fulfill the responsibilities of a Board Member.

Board Members serve two consecutive terms of three years each.

Who We’re Looking For
We encourage applications from individuals who:

  • Have experience with not-for-profit organizations, preferably as a Board Member.
  • Have a personal connection to JMCC as a past recipient of services or as a parent of a child who is/was a recipient of services.
  • Reflect the diversity of the Windsor-Essex community, including ethnicity, culture, disability, economic background, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
  • Have a Finance and Legal background

Candidates with knowledge of both of Canada’s official languages will be given priority.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
