About Us

Nurture & Thrive Care Services is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children, youth, and seniors through educational programs, family engagement initiatives, and community events. We rely on digital tools and systems to support our operations, communication, and program delivery.

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and tech-savvy IT Support Volunteer to assist with maintaining and supporting the organization’s digital systems, tools, and platforms.

This role is essential in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across administrative, program, and communication systems. The IT Support Volunteer will work closely with the CEO and COO and provide technical assistance across departments when needed.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Support

  • Provide basic IT troubleshooting and support to staff and volunteers
  • Assist with login issues, access permissions, and system setup
  • Support troubleshooting for Microsoft Teams, email, and shared drives

2. User Access Management (Key Responsibility)

  • Create user profiles and accounts for new team members
  • Set up access permissions for Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and internal systems
  • Update and manage access levels based on role changes
  • Remove or deactivate accounts when a member resigns or is no longer active
  • Ensure secure and proper handling of access credentials and permissions

3. Systems & Platforms Support

  • Maintain and support use of Microsoft Teams (meetings, links, access)
  • Manage and organize files in OneDrive / Google Drive
  • Ensure digital tools are functioning properly for staff and programs

4. Email & Communication Systems

  • Assist with setting up and managing organizational email accounts (if needed)
  • Support troubleshooting email access or communication issues
  • Help ensure smooth communication systems across teams

4. Data & File Management

  • Assist in organizing digital files, folders, and shared drives
  • Support maintaining structured documentation systems
  • Ensure data is stored securely and properly categorized

5. Event & Program Tech Support

  • Provide technical support during online meetings or virtual events
  • Assist with setting up virtual sessions and ensuring smooth operation
  • Support administrative and program teams with digital tools as needed

6. System Improvement & Maintenance

  • Identify areas where digital systems can be improved or streamlined
  • Suggest tools or solutions to improve efficiency
  • Support the implementation of new digital processes when required

Qualifications

  • Basic to intermediate IT or technical support knowledge
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and email systems
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to explain technical issues in simple terms
  • Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work independently and respond to issues promptly
  • Previous IT support experience (volunteer, school, or work) is an asset
