Opportunity
The IT Specialist supports the organization’s technology infrastructure, systems, and end users to ensure reliable, secure, and effective digital operations. This role serves as an on site point of contact for IT, works closely and collaboratively with the Managed Service Provider, and plays a key role in user support, onboarding, system administration, and the continuous improvement of technology services across programs and sites. The IT Specialist also supports the agency in managing key technology vendors—including internet, e fax, printers, and security service providers—and regularly visits PCRS sites as needed across the Vancouver, Surrey, and Chilliwack regions to provide hands on support in coordination with IT internal staff and Managed Service Provider.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the onsite point of contact for staff IT requests submitted through the ticketing system, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
- Collaborate closely with the Managed Service Provider and internal IT staff to coordinate support efforts and ensure timely responses to all requests.
- Provide end-user support for Microsoft 365, Azure servers, and other systems managed by the organization’s Managed Service Provider as needed.
- Maintain accurate IT documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for technology services across programs and sites.
- Support the implementation and ongoing administration of Microsoft Teams Phone, including configuration, maintenance, and day to day operational support.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and access-related issues efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
- Support internal IT staff by creating and maintaining spreadsheets, and ensure billing and invoicing are accurately allocated to the appropriate programs and cost centers.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in IT or related field.
- 2+ years in IT support positions.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Familiarity with IT service management practices.
- Experience working with and/or managing relationships with a Managed Service Provider (MSP).
- Valid driver’s license and ownership of, or regular access to, a reliable personal vehicle.
