Job Purpose
The Intern, Event Production provides hands-on production and operational support to the Events & Experiences team, with a primary focus on content preparation, production readiness and production execution, including support for technical and A/V elements of event delivery. This role is designed to build foundational experience in live, virtual, and hybrid event production while contributing to the delivery of high-quality, well-executed events and participant experiences.
Under the guidance of the Event Producer, the Intern supports day-to-day production activities, contributes to event readiness, and helps ensure the smooth execution of multiple events across the pipeline. The role also offers structured learning opportunities to develop core production skills, tools and workflows within a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities
Event Content & Asset Support
- Source, organize, and maintain event and production assets including photos, videos, scripts and presentation materials
- Build and format event slide decks using approved templates and brand guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality
- Collaborate with speakers and internal teams to prepare, review and finalize presentation content for live and virtual delivery
- Track content deliverables, timelines and approvals to ensure production readiness
- Conduct pre-event quality checks to ensure content accuracy, formatting consistency and alignment with run-of-show
Technical & Production Support
- Assist in the coordination and execution of live, virtual and hybrid events under the direction of the Event Producer
- Support development and maintenance of run-of-show documents, ensuring alignment across content, speakers and technical elements
- Assist with basic A/V and technical setup (audio, visual, and streaming components) under supervision
- Support setup and basic operation of production and streaming tools (e.g., Zoom, StreamYard, OBS)
- Conduct speaker tech checks and support rehearsal execution
- Help identify, flag and escalate potential production risks or gaps during planning and execution
Onsite Event & Front-of-House Support
- Provide onsite production support including stage management assistance and front-of-house coordination
- Support speaker management including arrivals, transitions and cue execution based on run-of-show
- Act as an onsite liaison to execute production instructions and support seamless event flow
- Contribute to delivering a high-quality participant and speaker experience through attention to detail in timing, environment and transitions
Production Operations & Coordination
- Support development and maintenance of production timelines, checklists, trackers and documentation
- Assist in organizing and maintaining event files, assets and shared production resources
- Support post-event activities including attendance tracking, asset organization and report preparation
- Contribute to post-event debriefs by capturing key learnings, challenges and opportunities to improve future event delivery
Job Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a post-secondary program in Events, Communications, Media Production, Marketing or a related field
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Willingness to learn event production tools, platforms, and processes
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for event support
Assets (Nice to Have):
- Experience with presentation tools (PowerPoint, Google Slides, Canva)
- Interest in live production, AV, or digital event platforms
- Basic familiarity with streaming or production tools (Zoom, OBS, StreamYard, etc.)
