Organization: Bros Before Lows (BBL) Foundation

Job Type: Part-Time Contract (10–15 hours/week)
Contract Duration: 6 Months (Fixed-term coverage)
About Bros Before Lows (BBL) Foundation
“Where Brotherhood Meets Purpose” The Bros Before Lows (BBL) Foundation is a federally incorporated not-for-profit established to directly combat the escalating male suicide crisis in Canada. We provide a low-barrier, high-impact "third space" that bridges the gap between peer-led isolation reduction and professional healthcare systems.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced Interim Executive Director to provide part-time, fractional leadership while our current Executive Director is on a 6-month leave.
Because our internal programs, volunteer teams, and daily operations are expertly managed by our Director of Operations, this role is strictly focused on external stewardship, maintaining grant momentum, and high-level stakeholder relations. You will serve as the steady hand guiding our external strategy, ensuring the foundation continues to hit its financial targets and scale its impact until our permanent ED returns.
Key Responsibilities
External Stewardship & Partnerships
- Serve as the temporary public-facing executive of the foundation.
- Actively steward existing relationships with government agencies, macro-partners, and community networks to maintain confidence and momentum.
- Pitch the BBL mission to prospective corporate sponsors and post-secondary institutions.
Strategic Revenue Maintenance
- Oversee the execution of the existing revenue roadmap to keep the foundation on track for its Horizon 1 ($50,000) and Horizon 2 ($225,000) funding targets.
- Work collaboratively with our Fundraising & Development Manager to review and approve grant applications and donor communications.
Board Advisory & Transition Continuity
- Report directly to the Board of Directors, providing monthly updates on financial health and external partnership status.
- Serve as a senior sounding board for the Director of Operations regarding macro-level organizational challenges.
- Facilitate a comprehensive, seamless handover of all external relationships and funding pipelines back to the permanent Executive Director upon their return.
Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of senior executive leadership experience in the non-profit, healthcare, or charitable sector.
- Demonstrated success in securing and stewarding high-value government grants, corporate sponsorships, and philanthropic funding.
- Experience stepping into interim or fractional roles with a strong ability to execute an existing strategic vision without over-engineering.
- Strong ability to delegate internal operational tasks and maintain a strict focus on external, macro-level objectives.
- Deep empathy for the BBL mission and a commitment to mental health advocacy.
