Indigenous Youth Outreach Coordinator

Full-Time | Remote, Canada | Contract until March 31, 2026

Purpose

The Moose Hide Campaign is looking for an Indigenous Youth Outreach Coordinator to

manage outreach for our national Ten Men Ceremonies & Education Workshops program. In

this role you will play a critical role in building relationships with Indigenous communities and

organizations across Canada, ensuring youth have access to culturally relevant programming

and resources. Here your work will support systemic change, amplify Indigenous voices, and

ensure that traditional knowledge reaches the next generation. You will report to our Director of

Education.

About the Project

Restoring Balance: Ten Men Ceremonies & Youth Education Workshops is a national initiative

designed to promote healing, cultural revitalization, and education among Indigenous

communities. The project centers on restoring traditional roles and responsibilities through Ten

Men Ceremonies, and on empowering Indigenous youth with education workshops grounded in

Indigenous knowledge and teachings. This work addresses the ongoing impacts of residential

schools and supports cultural resilience, healthy relationships, and Indigenous-led solutions to

gender-based violence.

What you’ll be doing…

The Indigenous Youth Outreach Coordinator builds partnerships with band-run schools across

the six provinces the Ten Men Ceremonies are held in: BC, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, PEI, and

Nova Scotia. They work with rural and urban Indigenous communities. You will:

  • Create and implement ways of connecting with Indigenous communities in our program areas.
  • Coordinate logistics to ensure education workshops and Ten Men Ceremonies are
  • accessible and inclusive for Indigenous youth.
  • Support the distribution of educational resources to schools and educators nationwide.
  • Collaborate with Knowledge Keepers, facilitators, and community leaders to ensure culturally respectful engagement.
  • Track outreach efforts and provide regular reports on engagement metrics and community feedback.
  • Support event planning and delivery as needed (virtual and in-person).
  • Act as a positive ambassador for the project, centering Indigenous values of respect, care,

and accountability.

You have…

In this role you can draw on your creativity, and your ability to make meaningful connections

with a diverse group of people. You also have:

  • Lived experience as an Indigenous person (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit).
  • Experience working with Indigenous youth or in Indigenous education, outreach, orcommunity engagement.
  • Strong knowledge of, or connection to, Indigenous cultures, values, and traditional teachings.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently, remotely, and in collaboration with a diverse project team.
  • Experience coordinating events, programs, or community-based initiatives is an asset.
  • Comfort with digital communication tools (email, Zoom, MS Office or Google Suite).

Working Conditions

  • This is a full-time contract position (35 hours/week) until March 31, 2026.
  • Remote/work-from-home, with occasional travel for ceremonies or community visits (travel expenses covered).

Flexible working hours may be required to accommodate different time zones or

community needs.
