Independent Living Consultant (Full Time) – Richmond, BC ($56,881 – $58,851/yearly)
As a key member of our Independent Living Team, you will provide services that enable individuals to live independently in their community, with the necessary supports to ensure long-term success. These services are tailored to the specific needs of everyone, and you will work to build a clear and strong natural support system
YOUR IMPACT:
- Support individuals living independently, or striving for independence, with daily living tasks.
- Assist individuals in planning activities that meaningfully engage them and expand their social networks, community connections, and experiences.
- Provide targeted and meaningful supports that enrich everyone’s chosen lifestyle, with the goal of gradually fading out when appropriate.
- Encourage independent decision-making that is safe and respects the dignity of risk.
- Work independently and as part of a team that values communication, integrity, diversity, and self-advocacy.
YOUR CAPABILITIES:
- Relevant post-secondary education in a related field and at least one year of experience supporting people with developmental disabilities in a similar environment.
- In-depth knowledge of community-based supported living programs for persons with developmental disabilities.
- Advanced computer skills with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, etc.) and preferably experience with ShareVision.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, along with a clear Criminal Record Check.
- Valid BC driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
*** This position requires flexibility to work shifts scheduled anytime between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM, Monday to Friday. ***
