Project Manager – Phase 3 Cairo Project

Position type: Volunteer (10‑month position)

Time commitment: ~6-10 hours/week (remote; possible travel if feasible and desired)

Purpose of the Role: Lead and coordinate Universal Limbs’ Phase 3 Cairo Project, which aims to deliver functional upper limb prosthetics for 20 Palestinian evacuees based in Cairo. You will help turn our mission into a concrete project plan and keep partners, timelines, team members, and resources aligned.

K E Y R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S :

  • Project planning: Refine scope, objectives, and success indicators; build a simple workplan with activities, milestones, and responsibilities.
  • Risk & delivery: Help identify key operational, legal, and security risks and propose practical mitigation measures.
  • Partner communication: Maintain regular contact with local partners (clinics, NGOs, institutions), clarify expectations, and support short briefs and status updates.
  • Monitoring & documentation: Track progress, flag delays, document key decisions, and help organize MoUs, meeting notes, reports, and lessons learned.

Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S & S K I L L S :

  • Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken and written).
  • Experience in project management (professional or substantial volunteer), ideally in: humanitarian, health/medical, rehab, or NGO projects.
  • Strong coordination, organization, and communication skills; comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and in a remote, multicultural environment.
  • Familiarity with basic project management tools (workplans, simple tracking, basic M&E).
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work with a good level of autonomy.
