Position Title: Human Resources Student Placement
Placement Type: Hybrid
Location: 3333 Finch Ave East
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday 9:30am – 5:30pm
Students Needed: 1
Reports to: Human Resources Coordinator
Start Date: ASAP (As soon as possible)
Position Summary
Responsible for supporting recruitment and onboarding activities; maintaining employee records, assisting with Health and Safety programs, and providing administrative support to the Human Resources department, including Volunteer Services.
Responsibilities
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding orientation activities
- Supporting Training initiatives
- Supporting HR events and initiatives
- Maintains Human Resource records
- Assists the Health and Safety programs and initiatives
- Performs other support duties
Skills & Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in a Human Resources Management diploma, degree, or certificate program with a recognized college or university.
- Highly detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Strong organization skills and accurate filing and record-keeping.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly action-oriented and results-oriented.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multicultural team.
Experience:
- Previous experience in Administration, Recruitment or HRIS systems is an asset.
- Knowledge of Human Resources Management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Working Environment
- Will be working from home 2 days out of the week
- In office 3 times a week - Monday and Thursday and the other day to be coordinated
- Regular interruptions to support staff and supervisors.
- Regular exposure to computer terminal.
- May be exposed to contagious diseases.
- Required to work occasional evening or weekend hours.
Orientation & Training
- Volunteer Services will provide an orientation covering organizational policies and procedures, including COVID-19 safety measures.
- Completion of IPAC Mandatory Training is required for all onsite positions.
- Organizational training will be provided for all new volunteers.
- Position-specific training and orientation will be conducted by the direct supervisor.
Supervision & Evaluation
- Ongoing supervision and support will be provided by the Human Resources Coordinator.
Other Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary program
- Vulnerable Service Sector Check screening is mandatory.
- Must be 18 years or older.
