Organization: Gibraltar Leadership Academy (GLA)
Location: Remote with occasional option to attend in-person events and meetings (GTA-based preferred)
Commitment: Part-time volunteer (flexible hours), 10 months (September 2025 to June 2026)

Gibraltar Leadership Academy is dedicated to the leadership development of Muslim youth through education, mentorship, and community engagement. We are looking for passionate volunteers who want to give back to the Muslim community while gaining meaningful professional experience in a nonprofit setting.
Role Summary
The Human Resources Associate will play a vital role in supporting GLA’s staffing and organizational development needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an HR background—or someone studying in the field—who wants to apply their skills in the nonprofit sector and contribute to the development of future Muslim leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and post volunteer and staff job descriptions on relevant platforms.
- Screen applications and support the interview and selection process.
- Assist with onboarding and staff development initiatives.
- Schedule and help coordinate performance appraisals.
- Provide HR expertise, best practices, and recommendations to strengthen internal policies.
- Support the overall HR strategy to align with GLA’s mission and values.
Qualifications
- Background in Human Resources, HR management, or related field (education or experience).
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Previous nonprofit experience is an asset but not required.
