South Riverdale Community Health Centre is a non-profit, multi-service organization that provides primary healthcare, social and community outreach services with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention primarily to people of East Toronto. Our mission is to improve the lives of people that face barriers to physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being. We do so by meaningfully engaging our clients and communities, ensuring equitable access to primary health care and delivering quality care through a range of evidence informed programs, services and approaches. As a leader in community health, our locally and internationally recognized community services include cutting-edge primary health services, health promotion, harm reduction, environmental health, community food centre and population-based community programs for marginalized peoples. The Human Resources Administrator works onsite supporting the organization’s day-to-day Human Resources operations, participating in confidential recruitment and employee lifecycle matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and maintain accurate HRIS data, including onboarding, offboarding, employee lifecycle updates, and payroll-related changes
  • Draft and distribute employee lifecycle documentation
  • Meet regular system and data entry deadlines
  • Maintain up-to-date Excel tracking spreadsheet systems
  • Complete regular audits to ensure accuracy and integrity of employee records and systems
  • Support system enhancements and process improvements
  • Produce and distribute standard HR reports
  • Organize and maintain HR paper and electronic files, scanning to support a paperless system, and archiving and shredding according to organizational policy and legal requirements
  • Time off data entry, reconciliation and reporting
  • Maintain organizational wide org charts
  • Complete quarterly license & malpractice checks
  • Support employee and student placement recruitment
  • Support employee and student orientation and onboarding processes e.g. material preparation, processing paperwork, monitoring status of outstanding documents, etc.
  • Coordinate new employee and student placement mandatory training enrollments and monitor for completion
  • Support training e.g. enrolments, scheduling, tracking, organizing and filing of completion records/certifications, reporting, etc.
  • Support occupational health and safety initiatives
  • Support employee engagement e.g. recognition awards, Take Your Kids to Work Day, etc.
  • Effectively engage with employees providing prompt and efficient response to employee questions and issues
  • Support the ongoing improvement of Human Resources systems by actively participating in process review, process improvement and process documentation discussions
  • Participate on agency committees/events as appropriate
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources
  • Minimum 2 years’ hands-on Human Resources experience
  • CHRP/CHRL designation or working towards
  • Experience working in a unionized environment considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of human resources practices, procedures and employment legislation
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation, collective agreements, and internal policies
  • Proficiency in the use of computer technology and various software applications (MS Office, Human Resource Information Systems)
  • Respect for diversity, equity, anti-racism and accessibility with the ability to work collaboratively and positively with others
  • Demonstrated commitment to work within and create a safe and healthy work environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, adapt quickly and manage competing demands
  • Proactive mindset and solutions-focused approach
  • Sound judgment in dealing with sensitive and confidential information in a diplomatic and professional manner; ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Police clearance documentation will be required for employment
  • Proof of double COVID-19 vaccination status will be required for employment
