Heritage Vancouver is looking for dedicated volunteers with a hands-on work ethic to join its Board of Directors for the 2025-2026 term. We value passionate individuals who want to serve on the board and help support our organization by bringing their unique skills, perspectives, and diversity.
About Heritage Vancouver
Heritage Vancouver is a charitable non-profit organization that provides educational programming, raises awareness of critical heritage and urban-related themes, and shares public commentary on heritage and urban matters in Vancouver. Our work is values-based, community-based, knowledge-led, present-oriented, and independent. We act as facilitators and a voice for underrepresented communities and organizations and push the boundaries of the heritage narrative in Vancouver.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking dedicated volunteers with an interest in heritage who want to contribute to a sustainable leading non-profit organization working in the heritage and arts & culture fields. We welcome individuals who bring diverse professional backgrounds, life experiences, and community connections that will strengthen our organization's impact and reach.
Essential qualities for directors:
- Support Heritage Vancouver's work, values, and guiding principles
- Demonstrate humility, empathy, understanding, and care for others to engage respectfully in heritage- and governance-related dialogues
- Are available for a minimum of one Board meeting and one committee meeting per month
- Responsible for representing Heritage Vancouver in front of diverse communities
- Bring skills, expertise, or perspectives that will help advance our mission and organizational capacity

- Fresh perspectives that can help us expand our reach and relevance
- Lived experience and connections within Vancouver's diverse communities
- Passion for collaborative work in areas such as organizational development, community engagement, finance, marketing, legal affairs, and fundraising
