About us
HERfold is a newly incorporated nonprofit dedicated to empowering women through skills-building, entrepreneurship, and community support. We are launching our first pilot program, a 12-week training and entrepreneurship program designed to help participants generate income and build sustainable opportunities.
We are seeking mission-aligned, governance-aware individuals to join our small, high-impact board. The board provides fiduciary and strategic oversight, ensuring accountability, sustainability, and alignment with HERfold’s mission. Day-to-day operations and program execution are led by the executive director, who reports to the board.
This is an unpaid, volunteer, fully remote board role.
What you will do
- Participate in board meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
- Support fundraising and community engagement efforts.
- Provide fiduciary and strategic oversight on organizational policies and initiatives.
- Advocate for the organization’s mission and values within the community.
What we are looking for
- Experience in nonprofit governance, nonprofit oversight, finance, business strategy, or legal/compliance environments or related fields. (Required)
- Strong communication and leadership skills. (Required)
- Experience in fundraising and community outreach is an asset.
- Individuals who are mission-aligned, committed, and passionate about women’s empowerment and comfortable in a supportive, advisory role. (Required)
- Competent, responsible adults who respect the executive director's leadership. (Required)
