Position Title: Health Promotion Project Volunteer
Placement Type: In person
Location: SPLC (3333 Finch Ave East) and local community (community centers, public libraries, parks)
Start date: ASAP
End Date: Ongoing
Placement Hours: Attend monthly meetings and assist in project activities
(no fixed day).
Client Groups: Older Adults and Seniors.
Reports to: Program Coordinator
Responsibilities:

Assist virtual and in-person sessions (workshops, trips, gathering)

Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of project activities

Assist in the set-up, registration
-
Assist in the outreaching to ethno-cultural communities, faith groups through ethnic media and cultural events

Attend and actively participate in team meetings, training provided as required

Other duties assigned from time to time
Skills & Qualifications:
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Second language is an asset (Cantonese, Mandarin, Tamil)

Willingness to take direction from staff

Has access to emails
Orientation/Training:
-
Position related orientation and training will be performed by direct supervisor.

Orientation on Project Scope and Limitations.
Supervision and Evaluation:
-
Supervision and support will be provided by the Program Coordinator.
Boundaries/ Limitations:
-
Not obliged to answer all questions asked by participants which are beyond the scope of the program.
