HEAD OF TALENT ACQUISITION (VOLUNTEER EXECUTIVE)
Organization: Right to Live Canada
Location: Remote (Canada-wide)
Time Commitment: 7-12 hours per week (Flexible)

------ THE MISSION

Canada is currently facing a human rights crisis of international consequence: poverty-driven disability euthanasia (MAiD). Individuals, blocked by state-enforced poverty, are choosing to end their lives with state assistance due to being unable to access essentials such as medical procedures, supportive housing, or even food. This systemic failure has triggered a United Nations investigation, criticism from the Canadian Human Rights Commission, and global condemnation.

Right to Live Canada is engineering the only viable, system-level alternative to this crisis -- Social Brokerage. By creating a pipeline between sources of raw capital and specific one-time support plans ("Stability Mandates") for individuals in the process of applying for MAiD, the organization creates the "viable alternative" that the system itself mandates its assessors to find but does not currently provide. This represents the world's first market-based solution to poverty-driven euthanasia and the creation of a social impact credit system which exchanges philanthropic capital for verified, life-affirming outcomes, akin to carbon credits.

Right to Live Canada is currently pre-pilot.

------ THE ROLE

Right to Live Canada is seeking a Volunteer Executive Head of Talent Acquisition to design, build, and run the organization’s recruiting function. This role exists because the organization depends on consistently attracting and placing high-quality volunteers without relying on compensation as the primary incentive.

The Head of Talent Acquisition works directly with the Founder / Executive Director and in coordination with the Head of Operations and Head of Human Resources. The operating model is intentionally minimalist. Leadership defines capability needs and priorities; the Head of Talent Acquisition builds a small recruiting team, sets simple workflows, and personally participates in recruiting.

This is not a bloated HR function. The goal is speed, quality, and replacement discipline using lightweight tools and clear decision-making.

------ RESPONSIBILITIES

--- Build and lead a small team of volunteer recruiters and actively recruit alongside them
--- Translate organizational needs into clear role definitions and candidate profiles
--- Proactively source candidates through targeted outreach, academic institutions, job boards, and professional networks
--- Secure and manage placement on top-tier university job boards and career portals
--- Build and maintain pipelines for senior volunteers, specialists, co-op students, and unpaid interns
--- Screen, evaluate, and place candidates into high-autonomy, high-responsibility roles
--- Replace non-performing or disengaged volunteers quickly to maintain execution momentum
--- Maintain simple, transparent recruiting systems using Google Docs, Google Calendar, email, Slack, and a lightweight ATS (Google Sheets)
--- Ensure recruiting activity remains aligned with real operational needs rather than aspirational headcount

------ WHO THIS IS FOR

This role is for someone who understands recruiting as an execution function and is comfortable working in a low-process, high-responsibility environment.

This role is a good fit for someone who:
--- Has experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or executive search
--- Is comfortable building and managing a small recruiting team
--- Can recruit without compensation by selling responsibility, impact, and resume value
--- Can make fast, high-quality judgment calls on candidates
--- Is reliable, decisive, and capable of sustained follow-through

This role is NOT a fit for individuals who require heavy ATS platforms, layered approval chains, or large HR departments to function.

------ WHAT'S IN IT FOR THE VOLUNTEER

--- Executive-level ownership of a national talent acquisition function
--- Direct collaboration with the Founder / Executive Director
--- Portfolio-grade experience building high-performance teams from scratch
--- LinkedIn skill endorsements reflecting verified contributions
--- Formal letter of reference upon successful completion
--- Exposure to top-tier academic, professional, and executive networks
