HEAD OF MARKETING (VOLUNTEER)

------ THE MISSION

Canada is currently facing a human rights crisis of international consequence: poverty-driven disability euthanasia (MAiD). Individuals, blocked by state-enforced poverty, are choosing to end their lives with state assistance due to being unable to access essentials such as medical procedures, supportive housing, or even food. This systemic failure has triggered a United Nations investigation, criticism from the Canadian Human Rights Commission, and global condemnation.

Right to Live Canada is engineering the only viable, system-level alternative to this crisis -- Social Brokerage. By creating a pipeline between sources of raw capital and specific one-time support plans ("Stability Mandates") for individuals in the process of applying for MAiD, the organization creates the "viable alternative" that the system itself mandates its assessors to find but does not currently provide. This represents the world's first market-based solution to poverty-driven euthanasia and the creation of a social impact credit system which exchanges philanthropic capital for verified, life-affirming outcomes, akin to carbon credits.

Right to Live Canada is currently pre-pilot.

------ THE ROLE

Right to Live Canada is seeking a Volunteer Head of Marketing to design, build, and run the organization’s marketing and public education function. This role exists because the organization is producing novel, complex ideas that must be translated into clear, accurate, and compelling public-facing materials. The work is high-stakes: misrepresentation, oversimplification, or advocacy-style messaging actively undermines credibility.

The Head of Marketing works directly with the Founder / Executive Director. The operating model is simple: strategic objectives and constraints are set at the executive level; the Head of Marketing designs and executes the systems required to communicate them accurately at scale. The Head of Marketing is responsible for ensuring the organization is understood correctly by the public, media, volunteers, funders, and institutional audiences.

------ RESPONSIBILITIES

--- Design and run the organization’s marketing and communications strategy
--- Translate complex system-level concepts into clear, accurate public-facing narratives without distortion or advocacy framing
--- Oversee creation of written, visual, and digital marketing assets
--- Manage volunteers or contractors involved in content, design, or outreach
--- Maintain consistency of language, framing, and positioning across channels
--- Build and manage marketing workflows, calendars, and approval processes
--- Coordinate with Operations to ensure marketing reflects real organizational state and progress
--- Monitor performance of campaigns and adjust strategy accordingly
--- Ensure messaging maintains credibility with academic, policy, and media audiences

------ WHO THIS IS FOR

This role is for someone who is comfortable owning messaging in a complex, politically sensitive environment and understands the difference between advocacy, persuasion, and accurate representation.

This role is a good fit for someone who:
--- Has experience in marketing, communications, journalism, or public education
--- Can simplify without dumbing down
--- Understands brand discipline and message control
--- Is comfortable operating with constraints and high reputational risk
--- Can manage contributors and enforce quality standards
--- Is reliable, self-directed, and capable of sustained follow-through

This role is NOT a fit for individuals whose background is limited to activism-driven advocacy, slogan-based campaigns, or low-rigor nonprofit marketing.
