HEAD OF FUNDRAISING (VOLUNTEER)
Organization: Right to Live Canada
Location: Remote (Canada-wide)
Time Commitment: 12+ hours per week (Flexible)

------ THE MISSION

Canada is currently facing a human rights crisis of international consequence: poverty-driven disability euthanasia (MAiD). Individuals, blocked by state-enforced poverty, are choosing to end their lives with state assistance due to being unable to access essentials such as medical procedures, supportive housing, or even food. This systemic failure has triggered a United Nations investigation, criticism from the Canadian Human Rights Commission, and global condemnation.

Right to Live Canada is engineering the only viable, system-level alternative to this crisis -- Social Brokerage. By creating a pipeline between sources of raw capital and specific one-time support plans ("Stability Mandates") for individuals in the process of applying for MAiD, the organization creates the "viable alternative" that the system itself mandates its assessors to find but does not currently provide. This represents the world's first market-based solution to poverty-driven euthanasia and the creation of a social impact credit system which exchanges philanthropic capital for verified, life-affirming outcomes, akin to carbon credits.

Right to Live Canada is currently pre-pilot.

------ THE ROLE

Right to Live Canada is seeking a Volunteer Head of Fundraising to design, build, and run the organization’s fundraising function. This role exists because the model requires disciplined capital formation aligned to verified outcomes rather than traditional donation-driven advocacy.

The Head of Fundraising works directly with the Founder / Executive Director. The operating model is simple: strategic funding objectives and constraints are set at the executive level; the Head of Fundraising designs and executes the systems required to source, structure, and steward capital in alignment with those objectives. The Head of Fundraising is responsible for building repeatable, credible funding mechanisms that can support pilot execution and scale.

------ RESPONSIBILITIES

--- Design and execute the organization’s fundraising strategy across individual, institutional, and philanthropic sources
--- Build and manage fundraising systems, pipelines, and donor tracking processes
--- Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with donors, foundations, and aligned institutions
--- Translate the organization’s model into clear, credible funding propositions without advocacy or emotional manipulation
--- Coordinate closely with Operations and Marketing to ensure funding claims match operational reality
--- Develop fundraising materials, proposals, and briefing documents as required
--- Establish discipline around donor communication, reporting, and follow-up
--- Monitor fundraising performance and adjust strategy accordingly
--- Ensure all fundraising activities align with legal, ethical, and reputational constraints

------ WHO THIS IS FOR

This role is for someone who understands fundraising as a systems problem rather than a messaging exercise and is comfortable operating in a high-trust, high-accountability environment.

This role is a good fit for someone who:
--- Has experience in fundraising, development, philanthropy, or capital formation
--- Is comfortable engaging donors on complex, non-standard models
--- Understands donor stewardship and long-term relationship management
--- Can operate without hype, exaggeration, or advocacy framing
--- Can build structure and process where none exists
--- Is reliable, self-directed, and capable of sustained follow-through

This role is NOT a fit for individuals whose background is limited to transactional donation campaigns, emotional appeals, or low-rigor nonprofit fundraising.

------ WHAT'S IN IT FOR THE VOLUNTEER

--- Executive-level ownership of a national fundraising function
--- Direct collaboration with the Founder / Executive Director
--- Portfolio-grade experience building novel funding infrastructure
--- LinkedIn skill endorsements reflecting verified contributions
--- Formal letter of reference upon successful completion
--- Work tied directly to enabling life-preserving interventions
