Harvey’s/Swiss Chalet golf tournament

Position Overview

Join Arthritis Society Canada as a volunteer at the annual Harvey’s & Swiss Chalet Charity Golf Tournament! This exciting fundraising event brings together approximately 150 staff members for a day of golf, community engagement, and giving back. 

All proceeds from the tournament support Arthritis Society Canada’s mission to fight the fire of arthritis through research, advocacy, innovation, information, and support. 

We are seeking 4 enthusiastic volunteers to help ensure the event runs smoothly while creating a positive and engaging experience for participants throughout the day. 

Time Commitment

This is a one-day, in-person volunteer opportunity: 

  • Event Date: Wednesday, August 12, 2026 
  • Volunteer Shift: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM (or end at 6pm if cannot stay full duration) 
  • Volunteers must be available for the full duration of the assigned shift. 

Location & Accessibility

  • Location: Rebel Creek Golf Club, 1517 Snyder’s Rd., Petersburg, ON, N0B 2H0 
  • This volunteer opportunity takes place outdoors on a golf course

Application Deadline

  • The latest date to apply is Wednesday July 29, 2026 

Key Areas of Responsibility

Volunteers will be assigned to designated holes throughout the golf course and may assist with the following: 

  • Monitoring assigned holes to support smooth flow of play 
  • Engaging with golfers and providing a welcoming presence 
  • Observing and recording any hole-in-one achievements 
  • Supporting event staff with basic tournament logistics as needed 
  • Specific assignments and instructions will be provided prior to the event. 

Meals & Hospitality

  • Lunch and dinner will be provided for all volunteers. 
  • Dietary restrictions may be accommodated for dinner but unfortunately may not be accommodated for lunch

Transportation

Volunteers are encouraged to arrange their own transportation to and from the event. 

If, however, volunteers require transportation, limited space may be available in vehicles departing from the Arthritis Society Canada office and from Markham. Additional details will be shared with selected volunteers.

  • Friendly, reliable, and professional 
  • Comfortable interacting with event participants 
  • Able to spend the day outdoors in a golf course environment 
  • Willingness to support event operations as needed 
  • Alignment with Arthritis Society Canada’s mission 
  • Please note that golf knowledge or experience is not required.

Availability & Working Environment
