Gutsy Walk Corporate Recruitment Chair
Inspire your workplace and local businesses to get involved in Canada’s largest fundraiser for Crohn’s and colitis

Gutsy Walk is Crohn’s and Colitis Canada’s signature national fundraising event celebrated on the first Sunday of June each year. Volunteers are essential in helping Crohn’s and Colitis Canada improve the lives of people living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. As a volunteer, your impact will be felt by millions of Canadians today and for years to come.

About the role

We’re looking for a motivated and outgoing volunteer to help grow corporate participation and fundraising for the Gutsy Walk. As the Corporate Recruitment Chair, you’ll use your professional connections and communication skills to inspire workplaces and local businesses to join the movement and make an impact.

Are you the right fit for the team?
As the Corporate Recruitment Chair, you will build and strengthen relationships with companies to increase engagement and fundraising for Crohn’s and Colitis Canada, including:

  • Adhere to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada policies and procedures, including the Volunteer Code of Conduct
  • Promoting the Gutsy Walk within your workplace and professional network
  • Recruiting and supporting corporate teams to participate in the event
  • Hosting workplace events like corporate kick-offs or Lunch & Learns to raise awareness
  • Encouraging a variety of corporate engagement opportunities (e.g., forming a team, sponsorship, employee volunteering, matching gifts, or donations)
  • Acting as a role model by registering for Gutsy Walk and supporting fundraising directly or by promoting the event within your network
  • Attending committee meetings and supporting other volunteers in their roles

This role involves virtual and/or in-person interactions.

Location: Local Gutsy Walk site and your surrounding community

Time commitment:

  • About 4–8 hours per month, including monthly committee meetings
  • Additional time leading up to event day and during post-event wrap-up
  • Some daytime availability is helpful for hosting workplace presentations or meetings
  • Some evening and weekend activity may be required for networking or committee engagement
  • Minimum commitment: 6 months

What you bring:

  • A network of professional or corporate contacts in your community
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience planning and delivering information sessions or events (an asset, not required)
  • An outgoing, approachable style with a focus on relationship building and follow-through
  • Enthusiasm for community engagement and teamwork

What we offer:

  • A supportive community with a dedicated staff partner, peer volunteers, and training resources
  • Opportunities to strengthen professional skills and expand your network
  • A rewarding chance to make a meaningful difference for people living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis

Getting Started:
Before you begin, we’ll have a short conversation to talk about the role, your interests, and your goals for volunteering.
