Position Title: Graphic Design/Video Editing Team Lead

Volunteer Type: Virtual

Location: Remote

Volunteer Hours: 1-3 hrs./wk., flexible workdays

Volunteers Needed: 3

Reports to: Volunteer Services Coordinator & Content Writing Team Lead

Position Summary

Volunteers will be working within the Volunteer Services Department to manage multiple video projects for the Better Impact Videos Team, which are distributed to all new volunteers of SPLC. The Project Manager Volunteer will oversee project timelines, team coordination, and video quality control, and will assist in graphic design and video editing when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and ensure the completion of multiple concurrent video projects within assigned deadlines.
  • Manage team members and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Provide regular updates to the Volunteer Services Coordinator regarding project progress.
  • Conduct meetings with the Graphic Design/Video Editing Team to review progress, relay updates, and record meeting minutes.
  • Verify video projects for accuracy, sound and visual quality, and adherence to provided scripts and guidelines.
  • Maintain document and file organization in the team’s Microsoft Teams Channel.
  • Assist with video editing and design tasks as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Project management experience required.
  • Experience with graphic design and video editing software is an asset.
  • Proficient in Google applications, Microsoft Word, and Canva.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to take meeting notes and follow directions accurately.
  • Fun, creative, and positive personality.
  • Respectful, patient, and understanding toward seniors and diverse communities.

Working Environment

  • Remote, work-from-home setting.
  • Extended periods of computer work may be required.
  • May experience occasional work interruptions.

Orientation & Training

  • Orientation on SPLC policies and procedures, including COVID-19 measures, conducted by Volunteer Services.
  • IPAC Mandatory Training (for onsite positions).
  • Organizational Training for all new volunteers.
  • Role-specific orientation and training provided by the direct supervisor.

Supervision & Evaluation

  • Supervision and ongoing support provided by the Volunteer Services Coordinator and the Content Writing Team Lead.

Other Requirements

  • Vulnerable Sector Check screening (mandatory).
  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a Medical Exemption Certificate (mandatory).
  • Must be 16 years or older.
  • Commitment of 1–3 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months.
