The Graphic Designer (volunteer) is a member of the Operational Team and reports to the Director of Communications. They conceptualize and create print and digital marketing assets to showcase UNACTO’s programmes and projects to internal and external audiences.

Interested applicants should attach a cover letter and résumé (PDFs). Include a link to your portfolio in the cover letter. Your portfolio should ideally feature examples of infographics, logos, report covers, newsletters and brochures.

Note: This position is intended to support the 2025–2026 season, with the option to renew each year.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Designing digital and print marketing materials/assets in collaboration with the operational team
  • Conceptualizing and designing digital visual content for social media, websites and email campaigns
  • Ensuring visual brand consistency across projects
  • Adhering to UNACTO’s branding and logo guidelines
  • Other relevant duties as required

Desired Skills

  • A genuine interest in the United Nations mission and SDGs
  • At least three years of experience as a graphic designer
  • High level of proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
  • Familiarity with Canva, the Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Trello, Slack and Zoom
  • Well-versed in current graphic design methods, practices, techniques and associated principles
  • Eye for typography and layout
  • Ability to develop creative concepts for different audiences and maintain a visual brand identity
  • A working knowledge of social media platforms
  • A working knowledge of WIX is desirable
  • A passion for visual storytelling and creating compelling content
  • An ability to work independently with little or no daily supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, flexible, team-oriented and responsive attitude to open communication
  • Time management skills—prioritizing, scheduling, adapting—and a commitment to deadlines
