Ongoing
Job Title:
Volunteer Graphic Designer – The Countertop Lifeline Project Organization: Right to Live Canada
Location:
Remote (Canada-wide)
Time Commitment:
Project-based (estimated 10-15 hours total)
About Right to Live Canada:
Right to Live Canada is a national non-profit organization focused on a critical failure in our social architecture: the rise of systemic poverty-driven euthanasia (MAiD) among Canadians with disabilities.
We are building the infrastructure to solve this crisis. Our objective is to provide MAiD assessors with a referable resource that delivers the exact intervention required to relieve an applicant’s suffering—whether that is specialized housing, medical treatment, or essential care. We will identify the specific deficit and execute the donor-funded mandate to resolve it. This will constitute the 'viable alternative' that assessors are mandated to refer a client to, the absence of which otherwise results in MAiD approval.
By establishing a direct pipeline between philanthropic capital and these tailored, life-affirming outcomes, we intend to close the gap in Canada's MAiD system and ensure that no Canadian is forced to choose euthanasia simply because they cannot afford the support they need to live.
The Project: The Countertop Lifeline
We are launching a fundraising campaign that places contactless donation devices called TipTaps onto countertops in businesses. These will both form a passive donation stream to assist our core operational costs as well as raise awareness about the topic of poverty driven euthanasia amongst Canadians with disabilities. They are an opportunity for the general public to assist our development of the first ever systemic solution infrastructure to provide support to those otherwise facing poverty driven euthanasia, at-scale and nationwide, with just a tap.
The Role:
Design a Direct Intervention We need a talented Volunteer Graphic Designer to create the visual interface for this lifeline. Your work will be the first thing a potential donor sees. Your challenge is to design the letter-sized graphic that houses our TipTap donation unit.
This isn't just a poster; it's a piece of quiet, effective communication that must sit on a business's countertop and, in a matter of seconds, convey the following:
The Problem: The silent crisis of systemic poverty forcing impossible choices, unendurable suffering or the silence of euthanasia.
The Solution: A simple tap helps us build another option.
The Impact: Every donation funds our direct intervention infrastructure against despair. You will translate a complex, systemic issue into a simple, powerful visual call-to-action.
Who We Are Looking For:
- A graphic designer with a strong portfolio of clean, compelling print and marketing materials.
- Proficient in professional design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva Pro, Figma).
- An expert in visual hierarchy, typography, and communicating a narrative through design.
- Someone who understands how to distill a sensitive, complex message into a design that is respectful, dignified, and effective.
- A reliable, communicative professional who is passionate about using their skills to address a critical flaw in our social safety net.
To Apply:
Please go to www.righttolive.ca/volunteer and use the web form. We thank all applicants for their interest, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Thank you for considering lending your talent to this critical mission.
