Empowered Futures is seeking a passionate and experienced Graphic Design Lead to oversee and elevate our visual branding and creative direction. This role is ideal for a design professional looking to apply their leadership, collaboration, and creative skills in a mission-driven organization where your work will make a lasting impact.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of volunteer graphic designers to ensure alignment with brand standards and project deadlines.
- Oversee the creation and delivery of design assets across social media, digital marketing, events, and internal communications.
- Develop and maintain visual brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all departments and campaigns.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Events, and Program teams to translate goals into compelling visual content.
- Manage design workflows, assign tasks, and support a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
- Stay current on design trends, tools, and best practices to enhance our creative output.
- Participate in monthly Marketing & Communications meetings and cross-departmental check-ins as needed.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in graphic design, with at least 1 year in a leadership or senior design role.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Canva, or equivalent tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage small creative teams or projects.
- A well-rounded portfolio showcasing a range of digital and print design work.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
- Experience working in or with nonprofit organizations is an asset.
- Familiarity with project management and communication tools (e.g., Trello, Slack) preferred.
