
Grant Writer, New Collar Collective
Summary
New Collar Collective relies on fundraising efforts to support the operational activities for the rescue. Funds raised help to cover costs related to veterinary care for the animals, transportation, food and supplies, and professional training. The primary role of the Grant Writer will be to research, develop, and submit proposals to secure funding for the organization to help us maintain and expand services.
The Grant Writer (volunteer) will be a part of New Collar Collective’s Fundraising & Events Team, which thrives on collaboration and open team discussions to recruit volunteers and to keep them motivated.

Time Commitment: 5 to 10 hours per week, for a minimum of six months

Compensation: Volunteer
Responsibilities include:

Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies

Draft proposals and supporting documents
-
Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders

Maintain records and submit reports as required, including grant schedules and tracking grants

Help support other fundraising & events activities as required
You will need to:

Previous grant writing experience an asset

Strong writing and research skills

Experience working in a non-profit environment an asset

Be well organized and detail oriented

Be self-motivated and able to work independently to complete tasks

Exhibit friendly and professional communication skills

Be highly adaptable and work well in dynamic situations
